Review: e.l.f Skin Shielding Moisturiser

I have wanted to try something from the e.l.f skincare range for ages so when I spotted this advertised I thought it was the perfect thing to start with. I ordered the e.l.f Beauty shield skin shielding moisturiser from Superdrug a few weeks ago. Superdrug have an extensive range of e.l.f products and I work there so why wouldn’t I buy it from them 😉😂

I paid £14.49 for the product, I wouldn’t normally spend that much on a daily moisturiser but was happy to pay a bit more because of the fact it contains a high SPF. 🌞🌞🌞

What I didn’t realise and think e.l.f hasn’t made very clear with this product is it’s tinted. It does say in small letters on the bottle ‘universal tint’ which I obviously did not notice when buying, I thought it would just be a clear moisturiser. It only comes in this one colour so don’t know how great it would match different skin tones.

You can see in the picture below the colour of the product. I don’t think I could get away with it when I’m at my palest but with the slight tan I have now it matches well and will look even better during the height of summer. I am actually really happy with the fact it’s tinted as I always wear a tinted moisturiser instead of foundation in summer but have never come across an SPF 50 one! I can see now why it’s that little bit more expensive.

I have been using it for about two and half weeks and I really like it. After cleansing my face in the morning I use 1 pump which is definitely enough for my whole face and apply it all over with my fingertips. I let it soak in for about 5 minutes then apply a concealer under my eyes and to any scars or spots, add a dusting of powder and my skin is ready to go! My skin feels light and can breathe which is 100% what you want when it’s humid and sunny outside.

It stays well on my skin all day; it doesn’t block my pores or cause me any skin problems. It applies nicely and leaves your skin moisturised but also blurs out imperfections and leaves you with a tinted glow. This would be so perfect to use when your on holiday and you want something that protects and gives you a bit of coverage. No more slathering greasy sun cream all over your face ladies and gents.

Good points to know:

  • Not tested on animals 🐰
  • 50ML of product ✔️
  • Contains 50 SPF protection UVA/UVB from sun! 🙏
  • Does NOT contain parabens/ sulphates/phthalates/alcohol ⛔️

I actually don’t have a bad thing to say about the e.l.f skin shielding moisturiser. I would recommend it to anyone who like’s tinted moisturisers and if you don’t, this one might change your opinion. I am looking forward to trying more e.l.f skincare. Have you tried any? Let me know in the comments.

Lots of love, Lou ❤️
